Moab Rocks Community Radio History

Joseph Lema, founder of Moab Rocks Community Radio, is a professional musician who has been performing for over 30 years.  Joseph owns Moab’s only specialty guitar shop, Tunnelvision Music, and has a great following of local & famous musicians who trust his knowledge in the industry.  Joseph has been supporting local musicians, music concert events and teaching guitar since 1991.

The push for a different radio station came about 3 years ago after watching the movie, Pirate Radio. Inspired by the movie, Joseph began educating himself about everything radio – equipment, licensing, internet broadcasting, news streams and more.

In his many searches Joseph found Nexus Broadcasting’s founder, Leo Ashcraft, who provided him with a wealth of radio knowledge.  Leo assisted Joseph in obtaining the Low Power FM Radio construction permit.  Leo has been an invaluable asset to getting Moab Rocks Community Radio on the air.

What is Low Power FM Radio you ask?

Low Power FM is solely a local community radio license that does just that, it broadcasts locally.  With the current FCC power limitations, our broadcasting range will reach the entire Moab community.

We are one of only a few Low Power FM stations across the State of Utah.
